Auburn Man Dies After Jail Hanging
The Allen County Coroner says a man hung himself in the county jail on Saturday. Craig Mitchell Schowe of Auburn was in jail on theft charges. After he was found unresponsive in his cell, Schowe was taken to St. Joseph Hospital on Saturday in critical condition. He died while hospatalized on Monday morning. The circumstances surrounding the suicide are still under investigation.
