Closing arguments expected in trial of a Crown Point man....
CROWN POINT, Ind. (AP) _ Closing arguments are scheduled to get under way for a northwest Indiana man accused of killing his wife and two teenage stepchildren more than five years ago.
The Post-Tribune reports the closing arguments in the trial of 47-year-old Kevin Isom are scheduled to begin Tuesday. The trial has lasted nearly a month.
On Monday, Lake Superior Judge Thomas Stefaniak Jr. rejected some jury instructions proposed by Isom's lawyers that would have made voluntary manslaughter an option.
Isom is charged with killing his wife, Cassandra Isom, and 13-year-old Ci'Andria Cole and 16-year-old Michael Moore on Aug. 6, 2007. He's also accused of shooting at three Gary police officers who responded to reports of shots being fired.
Isom could face the death penalty if convicted.
