Indiana flu deaths up to 47 as hospitals ease visits...

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indianapolis' hospitals are lifting restrictions on visitors even as the number of flu-related deaths in Indiana rises.

The Indiana State Department of Health said Wednesday the number of deaths has risen to 47, compared with 43 a week ago.

The Marion County Health Department says restrictions limiting who can visit patients will end Friday.

Health department Director Dr. Virginia Caine says flu activity has dropped significantly in Indianapolis after leveling off during the past two weeks. She cautioned that the flu season doesn't end until April.

The restrictions were imposed Jan. 18 at all Marion County hospitals after flu activity in the state's most populous county reached its highest level since 2009.
