Woman Allegedly Drunk, Driving with 4 Kids

GARY, Ind. (AP) _ Northwestern Indiana police say a 23-year-old woman who crashed a car carrying her four young children into a bridge abutment had a blood-alcohol level more than three times the state's legal limit.

Gary police said Wednesday that Pamela Hunter's blood-alcohol content was .25, or more than three times Indiana's 0.08 legal limit for driving.

The Post-Tribune reports Hunter was arrested at a hospital following Tuesday's crash that left one of her children with a broken femur.

Police say Hunter's four children ranging from four months to 5 years old were passengers in the car owned by one of Hunter's friends.

Officers say Hunter doesn't have a valid license and only one of her children was properly restrained in the car at the time of the crash.
