WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP): Indiana's farmers are well behind their normal pace in planting the state's corn crop due persistent rains and wet fields. The federal government's weekly crop report says 8 percent of the Indiana corn crop was planted as of Sunday. That's up from 1 percent the week before. But the 8 percent of corn planted so far is far behind the 82 percent planted by the same time last year and the 5-year average of 41 percent.print
