SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - A 22-year-old South Bend man who pleaded guilty to felony murder in the fatal stabbing of a 67-year-old woman during a home invasion has been sentenced 65 years in prison.
St. Joseph Superior Judge John Marnocha gave Khawann Lamar the maximum sentence on Friday in the death of Sandra Price, who died following the attack two days after Christmas. Witnesses told police men, one armed with a gun and another with a knife, broke into the house and demanded money.
Four others also were charged in the attack. Forty-eight-year-old Walter Neely has pleaded guilty to murder and robbery and was sentenced to 115 years.
A jury found 19-year-old Lee Griffin guilty of murder and other charges Thursday. Two others are awaiting trial.
Griffin is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 11.
