FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has award the Fort Wayne Police Department with $19,700 worth of life-saving equipment.

According to our partners in news at 21 Alive, the donation was made Tuesday afternoon.

It includes 17 automated external defibrillators that will be placed in squad cars so officers can provide help if a person goes into cardiac arrest.

Firehouse Subs created the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation back in 2005, with the mission of providing funding, life-saving equipment, and educational opportunities to first-responders and public safety organizations.
