Pitchmen Created by rreker on 11/2/2013 2:34:57 PM
Should we add President Obama to the list of great pitchmen of our time? ABC News thinks so:
I myself prefer Wilford Brimley. But when the White House tried to recruit the NFL to help them pitch Obamacare (and they turned them down) you could tell they were desperate. But then again... I don't think I've ever bought anything because an NFL star endorsed it.
This stinks of desperation. But the problem now is that since the train has already started it's going to be nearly impossible to stop. How will the government take away something from the people who have already signed up (no matter how low the number)? AND how do they delay it after all these insurance companies have been forced to drop the policies of millions of Americans? The headache of reversing cancelled policies OR even re-instating policies for one more year is a major logistical problem in itself. BUT if they do delay the personal mandate... hey could the White House in good conscience allow all of those Americans to go back onto terrible plans -- at least that's how the liberal talking heads are trying to frame it.
But then again... the poorly crafted website may doom this without any republican having to step in.
Just wait until the sticker shock kicks in for all the millions who haven't bothered to go to the website yet. Let's wait until the last week before the FORCED sign ups when a majority of people will be applying for coverage through the Obamacare market place. The prices won't get better... in fact they could get worse when they figure out they grossly underestimated the amount of people that would enter the marketplace to begin with.
