Northrop Mourns Passing of Coach Stavretti
Former Northrop baseball coach Chris Stavretti died on Friday, after battling A.L.S., or Lou Gehrig’s Disease for almost two years. Stavretti had been a baseball coach at Northrop for 26 years. During that time, he amassed an impressive record that included 526 wins, 12 sectional, 7 regional, 3 semi-state and 9 S.A.C. championships. He also coached his team to the state title in 1983. Coach Stavretti leaves behind his wife, Dottie and their daughter, Sherri. He was 73-years-old when he died.
