INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): A state commission is drafting new rules and policies to help Indiana's schools handle students with behavioral problems while minimizing injuries to them.
The nine-member group will determine how to boost student safety by reducing the number of children improperly confined in so-called "safe rooms."
The panel will draft rules outlining those behavior-control methods with a focus on reducing injuries. The commission was established following troubling reports in recent years of incidents involving special-needs students.
