COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) _ Police have released the names of the pilot and passenger of a small homebuilt plane that crashed in Columbus and set a house on fire.
Lt. Matt Myers says the plane was piloted by 81-year-old Gerald H. Clayton of Columbus. He says the passenger was Dennis King, but police did not release King's age or hometown.
Both men were taken to Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis, where spokesman Todd Harper says Clayton is listed in serious condition and King is in fair condition in the hospital's burn unit.
The small plane crashed about 9:30 a.m. Thursday into the house near the Columbus Municipal Airport, about 40 miles south of Indianapolis, and set it ablaze.
A woman who was in that home at the time of the crash was not injured.
