INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Plans for how the state will spend $200 million on highway projects around Indiana are set to be announced by Gov. Mike Pence.
He's is scheduled to discuss that highway spending Thursday at an Indiana Department of Transportation center in Indianapolis.
Lawmakers originally meant to put away that amount each year for 20 years to pay for future large construction projects.
Pence requested the first two years of savings to be released this year despite concerns from head Senate budget writers about spending the money too soon. The second half of $400 million in highway funding approved by legislators will be held pending a review of the state's finances in December.
Previously discussed plans for the money include adding lanes to Interstates 65, 69 and 70.
