FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): North Side High School’s move to a new mascot is proceeding slowly but surely.

The Fort Wayne Community Schools district plans on debuting a new logo to go with the school’s new nickname, the Legends, by the end of the school year. That’s according to a report from the News-Sentinel.

The district chose to change the school’s old nickname, which was Redskins, last year due to fears it was offense to Native Americans.

The district is also warning of a fundraiser scam related to the change, where people are selling candy, claiming the money is going towards new uniforms for the school.
