4 developers seek closed college football hall

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP):  Four developers have submitted offers for reusing the former College Football Hall of Fame building in downtown South Bend.

City officials received the proposals by Wednesday's deadline but aren't yet releasing any details about them.

City community investment director Scott Ford says a special committee will review the proposals and make a recommendation on how to proceed.

Ford says the committee will include representatives of the mayor, city council and a downtown business organization. The review could take a couple months.

The city-owned building has been closed since the end of December, when the Hall of Fame shut down after 17 years in South Bend for its move to Atlanta.
