Cindy’s Diner Getting Ready to Make Its Move

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A historic downtown landmark is getting ready to make its move. Friday at 2:00 p.m., Cindy’s Diner will be closing its doors for the last time at its current location on the corner of Harrison and Wayne. Owners are getting ready to move the diner to its new location at 204 West Berry Street as construction of the Ash Brokerage project is set to begin.

John Scheele co-owner of Cindy's Diner says that overall, he is optimistic about the move, “I’m anxious to get it done and over with because the development going here will just do nothing but increase our business more and we’re only going to be a block away.”

Meanwhile Scheel went on to say the process of moving the building is underway. “They’re in the process of putting in the foundation for our basement now and it will probably be around the 10th of June when the building physically moves to the new site.” Cindy's Diner is scheduled to re-open at its new location at 6:00 a.m., on June 30th.
