EACS Board delays building referendum to November

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): You'll have to wait until November to vote on an $87.5-million building referendum for East Allen County Schools.

The board postponed a public hearing on the referendum during their Tuesday meeting. According to the Journal Gazette, that move forces it off the May 3rd ballot, pushing it to the one voters will see on November 8th. EACS board president Chris Baker told the paper an advisor told them November would be a better time to put it in front of voters, since more will be at the polls due to the Presidential election.

The referendum focuses on making improvements to security and HVAC systems, primarily focused on their schools in the New Haven area.
