False Alarm in Ossian Water Rescue

OSSIAN, Ind. (WOWO): It was a false alarm for the Fort Wayne Fire Department's water rescue team Saturday.

Ossian and Bluffton fire crews were called to Archbold-Wilson Park near Ossian Elementary School at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday.

They got a call of a possible person in a pond. Our partners in news at 21Alive said a concerned park-goer called 911 after a pair of sweatpants were found near the edge of the pond and a frisbee that had been thrown on a patch of ice in the pond.

Two divers from the FWPD water rescue team took turns searching the pond, but no one was located.
