Foul Play Doubted in Northern Indiana Teen’s Death

WARSAW, Ind. (AP): Investigators in northern Indiana say they don't have any evidence that foul play was involved in the death of an 18-year-old woman who remains were found more than a year after she was reported missing.

Authorities have determined the skeletal remains found Sunday in a wooded area near Warsaw are those of Aurora Shoemaker. She lived in a nearby mobile home park and was last seen in August 2012 after leaving her mother's home for a walk.

Kosciusko County sheriff's Sgt. Chad Hill says that investigators are pursuing all possibilities for what happened. The county coroner hasn't yet ruled on Shoemaker's cause of death.

Hill says Shoemaker's remains were found about 500 yards from her home by teenagers playing in the woods.
