FWCS Release New Extended School Schedule

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): After another day of winter weather forcing more school closures, Fort Wayne Community Schools released a new extended day schedule. The schedule will now go through Friday, April 23. It was initially scheduled to go through April 11.

Leaders with FWCS decided to go through the 23rd so the extended day schedule ends on a Friday instead of in the middle of the week, which they believe could cause confusion for families.

It also gives students extra time in class the week before their ISTEP exams.

FWCS spokesperson Krista Stockman says if there is another school closure, they will only need to add five days of extended time.
