Man Pleads Guilty to Jewelry Store Robbery

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A suspect in a June robbery has pleaded guilty to the crime. 20-year-old Theron Smith entered the plea Thursday in Allen Superior Court. Smith is expected to serve 25 years under a plea agreement, five years will be suspended. Court documents say two men robbing Do’s Jewelry on East State.

During the confrontation one of the men put a gun to the head of the store owner. Shots were fired but no one was injured.

Another man in the case, 18-year old Stafford Staples pleaded guilty to aiding in the crime. The Journal Gazette reports that 20-year old Carl Johnson also faces charges of robbery, battery and criminal recklessness.
