Evansville Teen Dies after Being Shot by Friend

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) – Police in Evansville are investigating whether a 16-year-old boy who died was accidentally shot in the head by a friend.

The Vanderburgh County coroner's office says Logan Burke died Monday, the day after he was shot at an apartment on the city's north side.

City police Sgt. Jason Cullum tells the Evansville Courier & Press that investigators believe that Burke was shot by an 18-year-old friend while the two were in the apartment where the older teen lives. Cullum says it appears they were the only ones inside the apartment at the time.

Cullum says the older teen has talked with investigators and that he didn't immediately face any criminal charges.
