Fort Wayne City Clerk Appointee to Help New Clerk with Transition

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Republicans and Democrats working together.

In today's political climate that may sound impossible, but that's what will be happening at the Fort Wayne City Clerk's office. Democrat Michelle Chambers was chosen to take over in the wake of the resignations of both the former Clerk and Deputy Clerk due to controversy… now she tells our Partners in News at 21Alive she plans on staying on an additional 30 days once Republican Lana Keesling takes office in January.

Chambers says she doesn't want Keesling to feel “alone” when she takes over. Keesling's asking for a State Audit of the office so she can start with a clean slate.
