FWPD Tech Pleads Guilty in Rape Case

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne police officer charged with raping a woman last fall, has accepted a deal in the crime.

Crime scene tech Mark Rogers pleaded guilty to sexual misconduct and official misconduct. While charges of rape and providing false information are expected to be dropped.

Court documents maintain the officer took an intoxicated woman to the hospital and then later sexually assaulted her in a city park last September. The woman had been arrested for OWI.

According to the Journal-Gazette, Rogers served with the police department for 19 years.
