COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP): A donor has provided 1,200 meals to Columbus police along with a card thanking them for keeping Ohio’s capital city safe.

A police spokeswoman says delivery of the meals from a barbecue restaurant started Tuesday and continued Thursday at various police locations.

The meals have been delivered twice a day, each day, to try to ensure that as many officers as possible get one. The Columbus police division employs nearly 1,900 officers.

Police aren’t publicly identifying whoever donated the meals.

They say they’ve also received gifts from other people, including posters, cards and food, since the fatal shooting of five police officers in Dallas this month.
