9 Indiana parks offer free entry tied to bicentennial torch

LINCOLN CITY, Ind. (AP): Nine of Indiana’s state parks will be offering free admission when the state’s bicentennial torch relay makes a visit.

The relay starts Friday and will pass through southern Indiana’s Lincoln State Park on Sunday, when admission there will be free.

Admission to Spring Mill Park will be free Sept. 14, on Sept. 20 at Brown County State Park, Sept. 21 at McCormick’s Creek State Park and Sept. 22 at Turkey Run State Park.

Entry fees will be waived Sept. 29 at Chain O’Lakes State Park, Sept. 30 at Ouabache State Park and Oct. 2 at Pokagon State Park.

Admission fees will be waived all day at all except at Indiana Dunes State Park, where entry will be free until 10 a.m. when the torch visits Oct. 9.
