FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Mayor Tom Henry and a team from Fort Wayne will attend an event for Cities United, a national partnership to eliminate violence-related deaths of African American men. The meeting will be Wednesday and Thursday in New Orleans. The convening called “Why We Can’t Wait” will provide technical assistance and capacity building strategies for evaluating long-term, comprehensive violence prevention and reduction strategies for African American men and boys. Mayor Henry and his team will learn about the latest evidence-based models from national experts and engage in learning networks focused on issues like criminal justice, education, and employment.
