Voters to Consider Hunting Amendment

INDIANAPOLIS (WOWO): Hoosiers will get a chance to vote on hunting and fishing as a constitutional right.

In 2016, voters will vote on the amendment to Indiana's Constitution.

According to the Indianapolis Star, supporters say Joint Resolution 2 is way to block lawsuits by radical environmental groups and animal rights activists who want to ban all forms of hunting. Opponents say it could encourage unethical hunting practices.

The bills author, Rep. Sean Eberhart of Shelbyville says its other states have passed or are discussing similar amendments.

Rep. Matt Pierce of Bloomington says he doesn't understand what problem the bill seeks to solve.
