Suspect in custody after shooting at Early Birds Ultra Lounge

Fort Wayne, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police have one person in custody after shots were fired at Early Birds Ultra Lounge, early Sunday morning.

Jason Anthony, spokesperson for the Fort Wayne Police Department, tells WOWO News that just after 3:00 a.m., Sunday, security officers at Early Birds noticed a disturbance among a group of men in the nightclub’s parking lot. Moments later, the officers heard shots fired.

It was discovered that an adult male was shot in the chest. He was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition. His identity has not yet been released.

Meanwhile, the suspect, Miguel Bentiez-Hidalgo, took off running southbound through the club’s parking lot. He was caught moments later by some local police officers patrolling the area. He was taken into custody without incident.
