Air Quality Action Days Possible This Summer

The days are getting longer, and the air is getting warmer. And when sun’s energy mixes with car and industrial plant emissions, it makes ozone in our lower atmosphere. For some people, that means breathing becomes difficult. So, to prevent this issue, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management will declare “Air Quality Action Days.” You might remember these days from the hot summer we had last year. When these days occur, Hoosiers are encouraged to prevent the creation of more ozone by doing things like: driving only when necessary, mowing and filling up on gas after 7 P.M., and instead of sitting in a drive through idling, going inside fast food restaurants. We’ll let you know when government leaders issue these days.
