Bob Chase to be featured on NBC’s “Hockey Day in America”

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The legend of Bob Chase will be told on a national stage next month.

The Fort Wayne Komets announced during Chase’s 90th Birthday celebration Sunday that a video feature on Chase will air during NBC’s “Hockey Day in America” on February 21st.

Komets spokesman Chuck Bailey says the Bob Chase feature will air during Chicago Blackhawks/Minnesota Wild game, which begins at 2:30 p.m. that day.

A video crew from NBC has been following Chase around in recent months for the feature, which will air during a game that Doc Emrick will call. Emrick, who was a part of Sunday night’s celebration, grew up in Lafontaine and was mentored by Chase.
