Candidates Ramp-up Campaigning for Final Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Republican Gov. Mike Pence has taken to the campaign trail to support Republican candidates for the General Assembly, making bus stops throughout the state with the contenders this week.

Meanwhile, the three Democrats running for statewide offices have announced they'll spend the final weekend before the election traveling from Terre Haute down through southwestern Indiana.

Both sides are looking to get more of their backers to the polls amid concerns about low voter turnout. Pence sent an email plea to supporters Tuesday afternoon asking them to join get-out-the-vote efforts.

State races for treasurer, auditor and secretary of state top this year's ticket, but many strategists are focusing on the Indiana House of Representatives, where Republicans hope to protect their supermajority.
