City Council to Tackle $11M Deficit Tonight

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): While city council is looking at ways to close a budget deficit, Mayor Tom Henry is pushing for an expansive financial plan. The mayor’s proposal calls for more police, more firefighters and street improvements. He says its critical to invest in the future. In a statement released today, Henry maintains a proposal by Councilmen Russ Jehl and Mitch Harper that would use spending cuts and legacy funds to cut the deficit is not viable or sustainable. The public will have its chance to voice its opinion tonight at Citizen’s Square at 530pm
