Commissioner’s Corner is hosted by Allen County Commissioner Ron Turpin. Many of the things that impact citizens on a daily basis are decided by local government. Commissioners Corner is designed to help inform local residents of what is happening in their community and providing them with the answers to questions they may have.

About Ron. Ron Turpin currently serves as a Commissioner of Allen County as well as Executive Director of the Doden Legacy Office. Prior to this role, Ron has had several C-Suite level positions, including CFO at three local companies. Throughout his career he has been recognized for his results-oriented, team-focused leadership and willingness to solve the “unsolvable problem” while never losing sight of a “serve first” philosophy.

Ron and his wife of 29 years, Kathleen (CHRO at Brotherhood Mutual Insurance) have two children and live in Allen County. Their oldest daughter, Madi, is in a Doctoral program in Clinical Psychology at the University of Indianapolis; their son, Cameron, is a recent graduate of Taylor University and is an Orr Fellow. Prior to Ron’s service on the Board of Commissioners for Allen County, he was an elected member of the East Allen County School Board.

Believing deeply in being involved in his community, Ron has served on over 30 local, state, and national boards, including being the Founding Board Chair of Greater Fort Wayne, Inc as well as Leadership Fort Wayne. He is currently the Founding Chair of the Northeast Indiana Strategic Development Commission, Chair of the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, and Founding Chair of Grow Allen (an education initiative to ensure our 60,000+ school age children graduate with a career pathway).

Ron is a licensed CPA in the State of Indiana and has extensive background in finance and strategy. He is also a licensed attorney in Indiana, has obtained FINRA security licenses 7, 24 and 27 and has designations for Indiana Property/Casualty and Life and Health.
