County Highway Department Preparing for Major Winter Storm

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): With predictions of a major winter storm headed for our area, the Allen County Highway Department is making plans to mobilize snowplows, trucks and crews over the weekend.

Based on the forecast models, the highway department expects to have all crews out on county roads by 6 a.m. Sunday. Work would continue for a 10 to 12-hour period on Sunday, then resume by 4 a.m. on Monday.

When snowplows are out on highways, motorists should make sure to give truck drivers plenty of room to work by keeping a safe distance away. Don’t tailgate and use extreme caution if you must pass.
