FAA Delays Tower Closings

WASHINGTON (WOWO):  Plans to cut nearly 150 air traffic control towers around the nation have been delayed until June. The Federal Aviation Administration previously said it would cut funding at the towers April 7 under a federally mandated sequester cuts. Now, the agency says its facing several legal challenges. Meanwhile, some 50 airport authorities say they would take steps to fund the towers on their own. Towers at airports in Bloomington, Gary and Terre Haute were originally on the list.
