Homestead Student Named U.S. Presidential Scholar

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Homestead High School student has earned a distinction only 140 others nationwide have earned this school year.

Beresford Clarke has been named a 2015 U.S. Presidential Scholar. Clarke, who is a senior at Homestead, earned the award for outstanding academic achievement, artistic excellence, leadership, citizenship, service, and contributions to the school and community. 

Only one male and one female graduating senior from each state, Puerto Rico, and Washington D.C. earns this honor each year, along with 15 at large winners and 20 special arts students. 

Clarke will be honored in D.C. on June 21st through the 23rd.
