IN Sec of State Talks Investment Fraud

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Every year Americans lose $40-billion to investment fraud.

Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson was in Fort Wayne Tuesday to talk with seniors about that, and give them tips on how to avoid becoming a victim themselves. The Journal Gazette reports that Lawson identified Ponzi schemes and real estate scams as the most prevalent, saying investment fraud cases have happened in more than 30 Indiana counties. Lawson says if you're looking to invest, get your salesperson's name, details, and have a lawyer or accountant take a look at any proposals.
