MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) _ The speed with which the next pope was picked impresses an expert on the Vatican from Indiana.
 
  Ball State University history professor Jennifer DeSilva says the quick selection of a new pope may signify that the Roman Catholic Cardinals are more modern than some people think.
 
  She says the Cardinals clearly wanted to get back to their work in their home countries before Easter.
 
  Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina was elected the next pope Wednesday on the second day of voting. He will be called Pope Francis.
 
  DeSilva’s research includes the history of the Papacy.
