Indiana U, IU Health to Partner on New Bloomington Complex

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) _ Indiana University and IU Health have reached an agreement for a new academic health campus in Bloomington that includes a new home for a local hospital.

The (Bloomington) Herald-Times reports IU Health Bloomington Hospital's new location will be university-owned land that's currently the IU Golf Course driving range. The facility would be part of a partnership between IU Health and the school's health sciences education and research institutions.

The university also plans to build a new academic building on the site to give more space to health science education programs.

The plan was announced Wednesday by university and hospital officials. IU and IU Health are separate entities, though the two have a partnership through the university's medical school in Indianapolis.
