Man Braves Hot Weather to Help Thirsty Dogs

MUNCIE, Ind. (AP): A 57-year-old retired man has made it his mission to take water to dogs suffering in the summer heat in an eastern Indiana city. Barry Evans roams Muncie carrying buckets of water for thirsty dogs. He says he does it because he loves dogs. He also helps build kennels and houses for canines that need them. Evans says sometimes dog owners turn down his offer of assistance, even though their pets may be sitting nearby without food or water.
