FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) – A free screening of a film about Myanmar attracted such a big crowd in Fort Wayne some people were turned away at the doors two days before the Asian nation’s democracy leader is scheduled to visit the city.

Fort Wayne Cinema Center executive director Jonah Crismore tells WANE-TV he hopes to stage another screening in Fort Wayne of the documentary “They Call it Myanmar: Lifting the Curtain.”

Sunday’s free screening of came two days before Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi (ahng sahn soo chee) is scheduled to visit Fort Wayne.

Suu Kyi (soo chee) is a former political prisoner who couldn’t leave the southeast Asian country for two decades. About 4,000 people from Myanmar live in the Fort Wayne area.
