Bishop Kevin Rhoades Issues Statement on Pope Benedict XVI

The Bishop of the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese, Kevin Rhoades held a news conference earlier today to offer his thoughts on the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI.

The Bishop spoke of his great admiration for the Pontiff and for his confidence in the Pope’s judgment in what’s best for the Catholic Church.

He said there are a lot of unanswered questions.  Things like whether or not the retired pope will continue to live at the Vatican, or return to his native Germany.  That’s a question that hasn’t been considered for centuries.

No matter the case, Bishop Rhoades believes that Pope Benedict will live a life of prayer and will likely do some writing about his experiences in the papacy.
