COLUMBUS, Ind. (WOWO) — The Columbus Municipal Airport has secured funding for a new control tower to replace the outdated structure currently in place.

The $29 million project will be funded by the FAA, the state, and local airport funds.

The new 128-foot tall tower, designed by Marlon Blackwell Architects and Woolpert, will meet FAA standards and feature modern safety improvements.

Construction is set to begin in December with completion expected by the summer of 2027.
