Women Arrested in Connection with Large-Scale Check Scam

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Kosciusko Sheriffs arrest two women in connection with a large-scale check scam. Detectives had been contacted by a local resident who thought he was being scammed on a transaction. They investigated a check and found out it was part of an international scam. They followed the trail to the home Barbara Ickes, of Illinois, where they found a “check-printing” process with fake banking institutions. Ickes gave police information that implicated Desiree Blackburn in the scam which started when the two began forwarding money to Nigeria. The women face several charges and are being held in the Kosciusko County Jail.
