Are You Hitting the Road This Thanksgiving?

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Are you hitting the roadway this Thanksgiving? Turns out, you're not alone. In fact, Trip Advisor says 43 percent of American's are going to be traveling. That's up from 7 percent last year. Of those surveyed, 60 percent say they'll drive.

With the increased traffic, police will be out in full force, working overtime to keep highways safe. Experts say Wednesday before turkey day is the busiest.

Breaking it down further, Wednesday afternoon between 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m., will be the busiest time of the day. You might want to adjust accordingly. When you start heading back, keep in mind, Saturday traffic is traditionally worse than Sunday.
