INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The Indiana Senate has given unanimous approval to a measure aimed at curbing drug abuse among pregnant women. The measure would require hospitals to report cases of neonatal abstinence syndrome. The syndrome is linked to drug use during pregnancy and often results in drug dependency, seizures and other maladies among babies. The measure will now be considered by the House.
