INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Indiana's Professional Licensing Agency has asked the inspector general and the state ethics commission to review the actions of a member of the Pharmacy Board.
The request came Monday after two consumer groups questioned the board's approval of a new layout for Walgreens drugstores in Indiana.
Then-board president William Cover abstained from the vote because he's a corporate manager for the drugstore chain. But the groups say they've obtained emails that show Walgreens executives asked Cover about the status of the request.
The licensing board says public records show Cover didn't discuss the issue with state regulators, but talked with a state employee who coordinated visits to Walgreens stores in Illinois.
Licensing agency spokeswoman Sue Swayze says the board has asked Inspector General David Thomas to review the entire matter.
