New Albany Man Charged in Death of Father

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) – A southern Indiana man has been charged with murder in the death of his father.

Daniel Tingle of New Albany pleaded not guilty Tuesday in the death of 63-year-old Robert A. Tingle. The elder Tingle was found dead inside his home on Friday by other family members.

According to court records, the 35-year-old Tingle was concerned his father would call the police after the two men had an altercation. Authorities say the younger man allegedly stabbed his father with a kitchen knife. Authorities say the victim also suffered blunt-force trauma.

Daniel Tingle was arrested by Shively police at a hotel in Kentucky and returned to Indiana on Monday.

It wasn't immediately known if Tingle has obtained legal representation.
