Terre Haute Man Arrested for Mobile Meth Lab in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, Ind. (AP) – A Terre Haute man has been arrested after police discovered a mobile meth lab in his vehicle as it was parked outside of a Wal-Mart in Plainfield.

Plainfield Police Capt. Jill Lees says officers were called about 6 p.m. Monday on a report of a woman being struck by a man in the parking lot. She says the responding officers executed a search warrant to search the vehicle after learning a mobile meth lab was inside.

Lees says officers found materials used to produce methamphetamine in the vehicle belonging to Stephen Bailey. He was arrested on preliminary charges of domestic battery, possession or sale of drug precursors and manufacturing of illegal drugs.

It wasn't immediately known if Bailey has an attorney. He's being held at Hendricks County Jail.
