Authorities: Body Found in Vacant Gary School in Homicide

GARY, Ind. (AP) _ Authorities say a woman whose body was found in a vacant Gary school is the victim of a homicide.

The Lake County coroner's office said in a news release that it was dispatched around 8 p.m. Tuesday to the former Emerson school. Gary police say the woman was found dead and lying face down, with minor trauma to her body.

The (Munster) Times (http://bit.ly/1NROZIN ) reports the woman's death is being considered a homicide. Gary police said an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning.

The woman's death is under further investigation.
